Mr. James Michael Chesnut

Mr. James Michael Chesnut died Thursday, September 3, 2015, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 6, 2015, at 10:00 AM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with Mr. Gary Kauffman officiating. The family of Mr. Chesnut will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Saturday, September 5, from 4:00 until 6:00 PM. Mr. Chesnut was born January 5, 1953, in Chipley, FL, to the late Jimmy and Allie Chesnut. He had resided in Thomaston since 1986, and retired from Windstream Communications Corporation after many faithful years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Chesnut was a devoted father and a friend to all, and having a generous heart, he was always ready to lend a helping hand. Mr. Chesnut was preceded in death by a brother Jamie Craig Chesnut. Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Fleming Chesnut of Molena; two daughters, Holly (Brad) Higginbotham of Birmingham, AL, and Megan Chesnut of Thomaston; a son, Forrest Michael Chesnut of Thomaston; a stepdaughter, Amanda Trice (James) Davis, of Greenville, SC; a stepson, J. Sawyer Trice, of Sydney, Australia; two sisters: Charlotte (Doyle) Daniels of Kinard, FL, and Sheila Shiver of Graceville, FL; a brother, Robin (Sherrie) Chesnut of Bonifay FL, a sister-in-law, Jennifer Chesnut (Jamie) of Tennessee; and two grandchildren, Emma and Charlotte Davis, of Greenville, SC. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that all memorial contributions be made to the Chesnut Knoll Memorial Fund at C/O Wells Fargo Bank 127 W. Main St Manchester, GA 31816
