Mr. James Smith "Jimmy" Jones, Jr.

Mr. James Smith "Jimmy" Jones, Jr., 78, of Molena, died Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Eternal Hope Hospice in Griffin, Georgia. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Jones will be held on Tuesday, March 2, at 2:00 PM in the Molena City Cemetery with Mr. James Peterman officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, March 1, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mr. Jones was born in Newnan, Georgia, on May 16, 1942, to the late James Smith Jones, Sr., and the late Rebecca Chambliss Jones. He was a 1960 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute. He was retired from Woodbury Business Forms with 45 years of service as a pressman, and he was a life-long farmer. Mr. Jones was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by a brother, Maxie Jones. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Goodman Jones of Molena; a daughter, Kayla (Davy) Jones and a son, Todd (Sherry Dorsey) Jones, both of Thomaston; five grandchildren: Kristin (Rusty) Hill of Forsyth; Taylor (Zach) Moss of Pine Mountain; Zachary (Miriam) Jones of Thomaston; Bryan Jones and Noah James Jones, both of Thomaston; and three great grandchildren: Kate Austin Hill and Carter Hill, both of Forsyth, and Elle Moss of Pine Mountain. Survivors also include Sherry Hammock and the family dog, Amber. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home of Thomaston is in charge of all arrangements.
