Mr. James Terrell “Terry” Ellerbee, age 72, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Providence Health Care.
Funeral services for Mr. Ellerbee will be held Monday, December 5, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Rev. Jason Ellerbee will officiate, and interment with military honors will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 PM on Sunday at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.
Mr. Ellerbee was born June 20, 1950, in Thomaston, a son of the late Pruitt Courtney Ellerbee and the late Anna Belle Ellerbee. He served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Seminole as a seaman’s apprentice during the Vietnam War. “Terry” as he was known, was a paint and body technician for many years. Terry was as an avid NASCAR fan. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Ellerbee is survived by his daughter, Courtney Ellerbee (Daniel Rice) of Thomaston; his son, Mitchell (Alicia) Ellerbee of Thomaston; his sister, Lequita Salter of Thomaston; his brother, Pruitt “Corky” (Hallie) Ellerbee of Milledgeville; his six grandchildren, Easton, Aubree, Chandler, Logan, Corey, and Haley; and his two great grandchildren, Sawyer and Willow. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ellerbee was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy Lynn Garner Ellerbee; his son, Jonathon Ellerbee; his sisters, Martha Sutton and Pat Williamson; and his brother, Chuck Ellerbee.
