Mr. James Wendell Bryan

Mr. James Wendell Bryan, age 68, of Thomaston, died Friday, February 3, 2023, at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Bryan will be held Tuesday, February 7, at 2:00 PM, at Harmony Church of The Nazarene Cemetery in Woodbury with Rev. Gene Wiseman officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:00 PM prior to the service.

Mr. Bryan was born on May 28, 1954, in Meriwether County, a son of the late Tolbert Wendell Bryan and the late Nora Corine Barrett Bryan. He was self-employed as a roofer and was owner/operator of J.B.’s Roofing. He enjoyed western movies, softball, and working to provide for his family, whom he loved very much.

Mr. Bryan is survived by his daughters, Brenda (John Dukes) Akin of Molena; Tracy (Brandon) Phillips of Woodbury; and Brandi Huckaby of Thomaston; his sons, Chris (Shellie) Bryan of Lebanon, Indiana; and James “JT” (Kasey) Huckaby of Thomaston; his fiancé, Wanda Huckaby of Thomaston; his sisters, Pam (Bruce) Hill, and Pat Bryan, his brothers, Jimmy Bryan, Ricky (Vicky) Bryan, and Randy Bryan, and his eleven grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bryan was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Funderburk Bryan, and his brothers, William Bryan and Mike Bryan.
