Mr. Jerrell "Jerry" Douglas Huckaby

Mr. Jerrell (Jerry) Douglas Huckaby, age 73, of Thomaston died Monday evening in the Upson Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 2:00PM in the First Baptist Church. Rev. Bill Barber will officiate. Interment will follow in the South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 6:00pm till 8:00PM at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mr. Huckaby was a native of Thomaston, GA. He was an Eagle Scout with Bronze Palm, and was a graduate of R. E. Lee class of 1960. He retired in 1996 from GDOT as an Engineering Contract Specialist. Mr. Huckaby was a Member of The First Baptist Church and the Silver Sounds Quartet where he sang baritone. He was also a vocalist for several area bands. The family has requested the memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church or The Multiple Sclerosis Center of Atlanta Attn: Donation Fund 3200 Downwood Circle, NW Suite 550 Atlanta, GA 30327. Mr. Huckaby is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jane Huckaby; two Sisters-in-law. Mrs. Claire (William L.) Warren of Thomaston, Ga, Mrs. Penny Holliman of Roswell, GA. and several nieces and nephews. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
