Mr. Jerry Keith Pippins, age 61, of Thomaston, died Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
Funeral services for Jerry will be held on Tuesday, October 8, at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service in South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.
Jerry was born in Thomaston, April 6, 1963, a son of Ruth Vickery Pippins and the late Jackson Eugene Pippins. He was a 1982 graduate of R.E. Lee Institute and later received his certification for welding from Flint River Technical College. He was employed as a jet operator for Tencate. He was of the Baptist faith. Jerry was an avid fisherman, he enjoyed camping, and he loved to ride on “back roads.” He cherished spending time with his family and will be remembered as a devoted father and grandfather.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Katie (James) Cheek of Thomaston; his son, Keith (Anna) Pippins of Woodland; his mother, Ruth Vickery Pippins of Thomaston, his grandson, Jackson Cole Cheek; and his sister-in-law, Wendy Pippins.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Eugene Pippins.
