Mr. Jerry Loy Wright

Mr. Jerry Loy Wright, 73, of Thomaston, died Monday, July 6th, 2020 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Wright will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family of Mr. Wright will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Mr. Wright was born in Lamar County on December 16, 1946, a son of the late Raymond and Pearl Wright. He played basketball while in high school and was a Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves fan, and an avid runner. He also loved playing golf. Mr. Wright was an appraiser for the American Appraisal Company. He was a member of the Midway Baptist Church in Barnesville. Mr. Wright is survived by two daughters, Heather (Mike) Dapkus of Villa Rica and Shelly D. Toluba of Griffin; a son, Blake (Ryan) Wright of Williamson; two sisters, Shirley Williams and Peggy McCart; a brother, Randy Wright; eight grandchildren, Evan Wright, Ella Wright, Ryan Dapkus, Alex Dapkus, Aaron Dapkus, Adam (Destin) Toluba, Elizabeth (Nathan) McCrina and Tyler Moss; and three great grandchildren, Nolan Toluba, and Imogene and David McCrina.
