Mr. Jimmy L. Rogers

Mr. Jimmy Lon Rogers, 80, of Thomaston died Saturday, November 1, 2014, at his residence. Memorial services for Mr. Rogers will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Thomaston. Rev. Bill Barber will officiate. Interment will follow at South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home on Monday, November 3, from 6 -8 PM. Mr. Rogers was a native of Thomaston. He was a 1952 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and a 1957 graduate of Auburn University. He was employed by B. F. Goodrich Martha Mills where he was Superintendent of the Spinning Department for many years and later retired as Superintendent of Sales Yarn and Manufacturing. Mr. Rogers was a member of First Baptist Church of Thomaston, a past chairman of the Thomaston Board of Education, and he had served on the Thomaston-Upson Arts Council Board of Directors. Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife, Mrs. Barbara S. Rogers; two sons, Jim (Laura Gaboardi) Rogers of LaGrange, GA, and John (Carolyn) Rogers of Marietta, GA; a brother, Jerry (Fran) Rogers of Buford, GA; a sister--in-law, Lucy E. Smallwood of Dunnellon, FL,; two granddaughters, Mary Margaret Rogers of LaGrange and Jessica Diane Rogers of Marietta; one grandson, Brian James Rogers of Marietta; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions in memory of Mr. Rogers to Pass the Salt Ministry of First Baptist Church, 208 S.
