Mr. Johnny Lamar Garrett

Mr. Johnny Lamar Garrett, 79, of Woodland, GA, died Friday, May 10, 2019, at his residence. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Garrett will be held Monday, May 13, at 11:00 AM, in South View Cemetery with Elder Norman Randall and Mr. Chris Hinson officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 12, from 4:00 until 6:00 PM, at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mr. Garrett was born in Thomaston on February 11, 1940, to the late Johnny Garrett and Elizabeth Parker Garrett. He was a 1958 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute. He was an avid sports fan who played basketball in school. He later enjoyed golf and Braves baseball. Mr. Garrett had been employed with the Goodyear Service Center, and he was retired from the GA Department of Transportation where he was an engineer. Mr. Garrett served his country in the US Navy from 1958 - 1962. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Donna Eubanks Garrett of Woodland, GA; four daughters: Vicki (Rex) King, Kay (Neal) Edmondson, Carol (Ted) Perry, and Julie (David) Weatherford, all of Thomaston; thirteen grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
