Mr. Jon Michael Ormand, 60, of Roswell, died Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018 in his hometown of Thomaston, Georgia, surrounded by his family. Memorial services for Mr. Ormand will be held on Saturday, January 27th, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Thomaston with Dr. Glenn Gilstrap officiating. The family of Mr. Ormand will receive friends in the church social hall following the service. Mr. Ormand was born on March 7th, 1957, the son of the late Harry White Ormand, Jr., and Gloria Peacock Ormand. He was a 1976 graduate of R. E. Lee High School, attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, and later graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science. Mr. Ormand had made his home in Roswell for over 35 years. He was the owner and operator of the J. M. Ormand Ceramic Tile and Marble, Inc., and also Quartz Surfaces, LLC. Mr. Ormand was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Thomaston. In addition to his mother, Mr. Ormand is survived by his wife, Elaine Ormand of Roswell; his sister, Georgia Ormand (Craig) Dupree of Summerville, SC; his step-daughter, Kelly Elaine Stephens of Suwanee; two step-sons, Andy (Kerri) McAllister of Zebulon and Christopher (Rhonda) McAllister of San Diego, CA; and one step-granddaughter, Cameron McAllister. In lieu of flowers, the family of Mr. Ormand requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org, or the First Presbyterian Church, 403 Birdsong St., Thomaston, GA 30286. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
