Mr. Larry Thomas Estes, 74, of Meansville, died Wednesday, April 5th, 2017 at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Estes will be held on Saturday, April 8th, 2017 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Mercer will officiate and burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family of Mr. Estes will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Mr. Estes was born in Manchester on January 27th, 1943, son of the late W. Z. and Murrtie Lou Jewel Ingram Estes. Mr. Estes served in the Army National Guard for four years and was also a member of the Upson County Civil Defense and the Northside Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Estes had been a barber in Thomaston since he moved here in 1960. He was also employed for 31 years as a bus driver with the Thomaston-Upson County School system. He was a member of the Calvary Light House Church. Mr. Estes and his wife, the former Glenda Eidson, married in 1961. He is also survived by two daughters, LaRae E. (Bill) Fennell of Thomaston and Marindy 'Mindy' (Thomas) Waldron of Plano, TX; nine grandchildren, Tiffani Nicole (Justin) Ferguson, Trae Yancey, Alex Rae (Ericka) Marrs, Michael Anthony Dakon, Kaelyn Leigh Waldron, Jewelieanne E. Fennell, Grayson Ashleigh Ard, Mark Densen Fennell and John Mason Fennell; and seven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Lynne Wooten in 2008. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
