Mr. Lewis Allen Mathis

Mr. Lewis Allen Mathis, age 56, of Thomaston, died Monday, July 3, at The Hope House - Eternal Hope Hospice in Griffin, GA. A memorial service will be held by his family at a later date.

Mr. Mathis was born in Thomaston on September 9, 1966, to Sheridan Daniel Mathis, Sr. and the late Frances Wynell Pittman Sangster. He was employed by 1888 Mills and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Mathis was preceded in death by a brother, Sheridan Daniel Mathis, Jr. He is survived by his fiancé, Cora Lee Blount of Thomaston; son, Christopher Allen Mathis of Thomaston; his father, Sheridan Daniel Mathis, Sr.; two sisters: Heather Mathis of Thomaston and Angela Mathis of Conyers; a brother, Jason Mathis of Thomaston; and a niece, Taylor Danielle Mathis of Thomaston.
