Mr. Marion Turner

Mr. Marion Turner, age 80, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Turner will be held Saturday, November 18, at 2:00 PM, at the First Baptist Church of Thomaston, with Rev. Bryan McPherson and Rev. Ted Kandler officiating. Interment will follow in South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church from 12:00 until the funeral hour.

Mr. Turner was born in Thomaston on April 4, 1943, to the late Dolphus R. Turner and the late Lillian Hayes Turner. He was a 1962 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and attended Georgia State University. He was retired from Southern Mills/Tencate where he was a manufacturing supervisor. He was a fun-loving person who had many friends. Mr. Turner was a member of the First Baptist Church of Thomaston where he attended the Samaritans Sunday School Class. He loved his family and his dog, Bella, dearly.

Mr. Turner is survived by his wife, Peggy Turner of Thomaston; three daughters: Julie (Raina Lenney) Turner of Alexandria, VA; Wendy Wheless of Decatur, GA; and Brook Turner of Decatur, GA; one son, Jeff (Michelle) Turner of Thomaston; one sister, Lisa (Russell) Kinsaul of Thomaston; one brother, Tim Turner of Thomaston; three grandchildren: Brittany Turner, Haley (Nathan) Miller, and Noah Turner; and one great grandchild, Layke Miller. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
