Mr. Marshall Elwood Hancock, 88, of Evans and formerly of Thomaston, died Sunday, November 12th, 2017. Funeral services for Mr. Hancock will be held on Saturday, November 18th, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Barber officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Church Cemetery on Delray Road. Mr. Hancock was born in Upson County on November 12th, 1929, a son of the late Lennie Elmo and Gladys Gill Hancock. He served his country in the U. S. Army as an infantryman during the Korean War. Mr. Hancock was employed by the Country Home Bakery in Atlanta until his retirement. He then operated the Hancock-Holloway Farm on Delray Road for a number of years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Thomaston and attended several other Baptist churches during his life. He served as a Deacon in several of those churches. Mr. Hancock is survived by his wife, Emily Holloway Hancock; his son and daughter-in-law, Dane and Cindy Hancock of Evans; two grandchildren and their spouses, Benjamin and Meghan Hancock and Lara H. and Scott Johnson; and three great grandchildren, Haley, Natalee and Tanner Johnson.
