Mr. Raymond Hill, 78, of Thomaston, died Thursday, March 12th, 2015 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Hill will be held on Sunday, March 15th, 2015 at 2 pm at Emory's Chapel Baptist Church. Rev. David Dawson and Rev. Dean Hemphill will officiate and burial will follow in South View Cemetery. Mr. Hill was born in Butler on January 20th, 1937, a son of the late Lewis Elijah Hill and Bessie Maude Joiner Hill. He moved to Thomaston at the age of 16 and worked for the 5 Points Tobacco Shop. He was later employed by Allied Systems Car Haulers and retired after 31 years of service. Mr. Hill was a member of Emory's Chapel Baptist Church. He liked to visit friends and shut-ins in the community. He was a great father and grandfather. Mr. Hill is survived by his wife, Joan Brodnax Hill; a daughter, Sharon (Terry) Van Houten, of Thomaston; three sons, David Raymond (Pam) Hill, Jimmy Daryl (Barbie) Hill, and Michael Wayne (Matrece) Hill, all of Thomaston; a sister, Gloria H. Collier of Albemarle, NC; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Betty Brodnax of Thomaston; two sisters-in-law, Marie Hill of Butler and Lois Brodnax of Thomaston; and six grandchildren, Christopher Hill, Rebecca Hill, Jessica Hill, Matthew Hill, Trenton Hill and Kylie Hill. The family of Mr. Hill will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Saturday from 4 until 6 pm.
