Mr. Raymond Lewis Chambers, 80, of Yatesville, died Friday, January 10, 2020, at the Macon Medical Center, Navicent Health. Funeral services for Mr. Chambers will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020, at 11:00 AM, at the Yatesville Baptist Church with Rev. John Long and Rev. Terry Threadgill officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in Yatesville. The family of Mr. Chambers will receive friends at the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 PM. Mr. Chambers was a life-long resident of Upson County. He was born on September 14, 1939, a son of the late Victor Floyd and Marie Boyt Chambers. He was a graduate of Yatesville High School. Mr. Chambers was employed for 39 years with the William Carter Company. After his retirement he became employed by Bottoms and Associates in Barnesville and worked there until his retirement in 2001. Mr. Chambers was a member of the Yatesville Baptist Church. Mr. Chambers is survived by his wife, Faye Noel Chambers; his son, Alan Chambers of Yatesville; his daughter, Linda (Todd) Bates of Thomaston; his granddaughter, Karen B. (Michael) Stephens of The Rock; and a great granddaughter, Dixie Stephens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clark Chambers and Larry Chambers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the School Fund for Mr. Chambers’ great granddaughter, Dixie Stephens, 2118 Rocky Bottom Road, The Rock, GA 30285, or the donor’s favorite charity.
