Mr. Robert E. "Bob" Watson, Sr.

Mr. Robert E. "Bob" Watson, Sr., 69, of Buena Vista, and formerly of Thomaston, died Friday, November 1, 2019 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin. Funeral services for Mr. Watson will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 4:00 PM, in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Hemphill officiating. Burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family of Mr. Watson will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00 PM until the funeral hour. Mr. Watson was born in Thomaston on May 21, 1950, a son of the late Robert Drew and Helen Jarrell Watson. He was a graduate of Yatesville High School. Mr. Watson was a telephone lineman for many years and had been employed by the Thomaston Telephone Company, Continental Telephone Company and GTE. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Watson is survived by two sons, Bob (Pamela) Watson of Thomaston and Craig Watson of Houston, TX; two sisters, Amber (Jimmy) Samples of Thomaston and Terri (Keith) James of Mansfield; a brother, Bentley (Betsy) Watson of Thomaston; and three grandchildren, Caleb Watson, Colin Peugh and Blake Peugh. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
