Mr. Robert Lawrence "Bob" Witte, 60, of Thomaston, died Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Family and friends will gather at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Sunday, November 18, 2018, from 2:00 until 4:00 PM for a time of remembrance and celebration. Military honors will be accorded at the conclusion of the gathering. Mr. Witte was born on April 9, 1958, in Perth Amboy, NJ, a son of the late Richard Frederick and Vivian Joyce Turner Witte. He had lived in Thomaston since 1985. Mr. Witte served his country in the U. S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam war. He was employed as a custodian at Upson-Lee High School. Mr. Witte is survived by his wife, Jennifer Dabney Witte; four sons, Vincent Witte of New Jersey, and Christopher C. Witte, Richard J. (Jessica) Witte and Robert W. (LeighAnn) Witte, all of Thomaston; five daughters, Gwendolyn C. Witte of Thomaston, Kayla B. (Chad) Davis of Bonaire, Karleigh H. (Jacob) Wilding of Tremonton, UT, and Kaitlyn A. (Ryan) Morrill, and Kalysia G. Pelky, both of Perry; a sister, Linda (Arthur) Straley of Thomaston; two brothers, Richard F. (Cherrye) Witte of Thomaston and Jonathan (Vicki) Witte of Paramus, NJ; a sister-in-law, Patti Broweer Witte of Paramus, NJ; and six grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Witte was preceded in death by brothers William F. Witte and Kenny Carl Turner. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a memorial fund that is being established for Mr. Witte's youngest daughter, Gwendolyn.
