Mr. Robert Lee Ellerbee

Robert Lee Ellerbee, 86, of Thomaston died on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at his residence. Robert Lee was born on October 18, 1928 in Upson County to the late Robert Marcus Ellerbee and the late Willie Lee Holliman Ellerbee. He graduated from R.E. Lee Institute in 1944. He went to work with his father at the family's saw mill business after graduation. He went on to do construction and carpentry work. He was a Master Carpenter who enjoyed the craft and was well known for his ability. After retiring, he served as the Upson County Building Inspector for several years. Away from the job, he enjoyed working in his home garden, doing various projects in his wood shop and spending time with his family. Robert Lee is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Mooney Ellerbee; his four daughters and their husbands, Adrian and Andrea Travis of Jackson, MS, Tommy and Brenda Allen, David and Linda Pasley and Terry and Bonnie Elliott, all of Thomaston; grandchildren, John and Penny Moore of Madison, MS, Paul and Krissy Moore of Florence, MS, Glen and Alicia Ross of Watkinsville, John and Anna Dever of Thomaston, Joel and Becca Pasley of Thomaston, Zeke and Katie Terrell of Macon, Tyron and Denae Elliott of Newnan and Justin and Lyndi Allen of Butler; great grandchildren, Julia and Luke Moore, Thomas and Maggie Ross, Colton, Kristen and Matthew Brooks, Trent Knight, Annie Grace and Bo Pasley, Bankston and Davis Terrell, Caden and Landon Elliott, Janie Lois and Lane Allen, and Michael Davis; his brother, James 'Crackcorn' Ellerbee; his sister and brother-in-law, Alvin and Eleanor Jimmerson; and his sister-in-law, Frances Mooney Hannah. Services will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 3 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church. Internment will be at Upson Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held before the service from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Fellowship Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions please be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 3133 Crest Highway, Thomaston, GA 30286, The American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
