Mr. Robert Richard "Bobby" Howell

Mr. Robert Richard "Bobby" Howell, 91, of Griffin and formerly of McDonough, died Saturday, September 7, 2019. Funeral services for Mr. Howell will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mr. Howell will be interred at Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery, but all services will be concluded at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mr. Howell was born in Thomaston on June 20, 1928, a son of the late William Jackson and Susie Mae Colquitt Howell. He and his wife, the late Betty Jean McConnell Howell, lived in McDonough for many years. He was a member of the Peoples Baptist Church in McDonough. He had recently moved to Griffin. Mr. Howell was a U. S. Army veteran and served in Korea during the Korean War. He was a retired diesel mechanic for the Smith Transfer Company. Mr. Howell is survived by a daughter, Terri (Mike) Weaver of Griffin and a son, Robert Randall "Randy" Howell of Stockbridge; two brothers, Tommy (Janell) Howell of Thomaston and Kenneth (Shirley) Howell of Roswell; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Howell was preceded in death by a son, Richard Gregory Howell. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
