Mr. Ronny Lee Stubbs

On Friday, November 6, 2020, Ronny Lee Stubbs passed away at the age of 76. Ronny was born on November 28, 1943 in Thomaston, GA to parents Bobbie McSwain and Mertha Stubbs. He graduated high school from R.E. Lee Institute in 1961, and received his BBA degree in Real Estate from Georgia State University in 1973. Ronny worked at the Georgia Department of Transportation, as an appraiser, for 34 years. He was married to Merrilyn Robertson and they raised two daughters, Barbara Teal and Angelique Stubbs. He had the honor of partaking in the raising of his granddaughter, Aliese Stubbs, and was known affectionately as Poppa. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie McSwain; his father, Mertha Lee Stubbs; his step-mother, Mary Hamlet; his brothers; Wade Stubbs, Danny Stubbs, and Terry Stubbs. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Merrilyn Robertson Stubbs; his daughters, Barbara (Kenny) Teal and Angelique Stubbs; his granddaughter, Aliese Stubbs; his siblings Jackie (Donald) Fowler, Janis (Jerry) Bowles, Don (Elisabeth) Stubbs, Susan Durham; his niece/nephews: Scott Fowler, Brent (Tina) Fowler, Coy (Kylie) Bowles, Misty (Jeremy) Harris; his great niece/nephews: Robert Fowler, Alania Fowler, Madelyn Harris, Thomas Harris, Hattie Bowles, Millie Bowles. Private family services will be held at a later date, with Fletcher-Day Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
