Mr. Roy Steffan Trawick, 76, of Thomaston, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021, at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Trawick will be held Sunday, October 24, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Barber will officiate, and interment will follow in South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 23, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mr. Trawick was born in Thomaston on November 23, 1944, to the late Curtis Leroy and Lolla Idell Bloodworth Trawick. He attended East Thomaston Grammar School and was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute. After graduation he worked briefly for Thomaston Mills before joining the U. S.Air Force in 1965. He retired in 1985 as a master sergeant with twenty years service. While serving his country, Mr. Trawick earned the Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Air Force outstanding unit award, and an Air Force good conduct medal. Mr. Trawick was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Trawick was preceded in death by his wife of 23 years, Kyong Cha Trawick. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Stephanie and James Bement of Nashville, TN; and Naomi and Ross Henson of Covington, GA; a sister, Phoeba Kent of Salisbury, NC; a brother: Roger Trawick of Thomaston, GA; two granddaughters: Ariel Gaddy and Lily Henson; and three nieces: Rosemary Kent, Martha Forrest, and Jackie Leonard all of North Carolina.
