Mr. Terrell Andrew Smith

December 21, 1953 — March 30, 2025

Terrell Andrew “Terry” Smith, 71, of Rock Hill, SC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice and Community Care.

His family will welcome friends at a visitation on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM in the parlor of Oakland Baptist Church. A memorial service officiated by the Rev. Dr. Jeff Hayes and Rev. Eddie Ramsey will take place at 11:00 AM in the chapel, followed by a private burial in the Cremation Garden.

Mr. Smith was born in Thomaston, GA, on December 21, 1953, the son of Verlie and Calvin Smith. He immensely enjoyed flying in his youth and was once the youngest pilot in Upson County, GA, doing his first solo flight at only 15 years old. Mr. Smith was a 1971 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and earned his BBA in Accounting from the University of Georgia in 1975. He remained a loyal fan of the Georgia Bulldogs his entire life; Georgia red was his favorite color. He obtained his CPA license in 1984, passing all four parts of the exam in his first attempt. He spent the majority of his career working in cost accounting for manufacturing plants, retiring from Qure Medical in Rock Hill in February of 2020. Always faithful, Mr. Smith was a member of Oakland Baptist Church.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan E. “Sue” Smith, of Rock Hill; his two children, Dacia Rae Smith of Rock Hill and Damon Andrew (Courtney) Smith of Savannah, GA; and his beloved grandson Cohen Andrew Smith of Savannah, GA, who knew him as PaPa. He is also survived by his sisters, “the girls”: Carol Harpe of Peachtree City, GA; Lynn (David) Hardage of Sharpsburg, GA; and Tracey (Scott) Hall of Kennesaw, GA; along with nine nieces and nephews. Mr. Smith was devoted to his family. His loved ones take comfort knowing he is now a part of the Heavenly Choir singing praises to God as the bass singer he always desired to be.

Memorial contributions may be made to Oakland Baptist Church or to the Oakland Baptist Church Ministry Center. Greene Funeral Home is facilitating arrangements.
