Mr. Terry Thomas Hadaway, 80, of Thomaston, died Monday, August 29, 2016, at Navicent Health, Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. Funeral services for Mr. Hadaway will be held Thursday, September 1, at the Molena Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Billy Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow in South View Cemetery in Thomaston. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mr. Hadaway, a son of the late Herbert and Edna Hadaway, was born April 1, 1936, in Chipley, GA. He was a graduate of Mercer University and the University of Georgia, and he taught for 40 years in the Upson County School System. Mr. Hadaway was a member of the Molena Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for 47 years. He was also a member of the Georgia National Guard. Mr. Hadaway was predeceased by a sister, Karen Hadaway Smith. He is survived by his wife, Annette Moore Hadaway of Thomaston; two sons: John Thomas (Debra) Hadaway and Christopher David Hadaway, both of Thomaston; Michelle Lee Hadaway of Thomaston; a sister, Peggy Hadaway of California; six grandchildren: Damion Hoke Hadaway, Rylee Michael Hadaway, Jared Christopher Hadaway, Caleb Thomas Hadaway, Julie (Randy) Goodman, and Kelly (Daniel) Fleming, all of Thomaston; and four great grandchildren: Alex Stinchcomb, Zach Fleming, Ashlyn Goodman, and Gracelyn Goodman. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the charity of their choice. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home of Thomaston is in charge of all arrangements.
