Mr. Tommy Lee Huckaby, age 65, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Huckaby will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020, at 11:00 AM at the Mountain View Baptist Church. Dr. Rex King and Mr. Joey Thiel will officiate and interment will follow in South View Cemetery. The family of Mr. Huckaby will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Mr. Huckaby was born in Thomaston on February 5, 1954, a son of the late James Huckaby and Geneva Fleming Huckaby. He was employed by AEP Industries as an electronics technician. He had previously worked at Thomaston Mills, Standard Textiles, Westek and B. F. Goodrich. Mr. Huckaby was a long-time member of the Northside Fire Department and the Upson County Rescue Unit. He was a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 20 and was serving in that role when his son, Chris, earned his Eagle Scout rank. Mr. Huckaby was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church. Mr. Huckaby is survived by his wife, Kathy Peugh Huckaby; his son, Chris Huckaby of Thomaston; his mother, Geneva Fleming Huckaby; a sister, Marie Thompson and two brothers, Charles Huckaby and Terry Huckaby, all of Thomaston; four grandchildren, Mason, Parker, Hunter and Madison Huckaby; and Abigail, his beloved dog.
