Mr. Wayne Hughes, Jr.

Mr. Wayne Hughes, Jr., age 67, of Molena, GA, died Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at his residence. The family will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Monday, January 10, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. A brief eulogy will follow. Mr. Hughes was born in Summerville, GA, on February 17, 1954, to Virginia Lois Hughes Gordy and the late Morris Wayne Hughes, Sr. He was a graduate of North Clayton High School and was employed by Hammond Services. Mr. Hughes loved the outdoors, and he enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, hunting, and helping others. Survivors include his wife, Sheila Hughes of Molena; a son, Wayne (Jamie) Hughes III, of Marietta, GA; a sister, Donna Saunders of Forsyth, GA; his step mother, June Hughes of Fayetteville, GA; a step sister, Lynn (Johnny) Huddleston of Fayetteville, GA; a brother, Monte (Sissie) Turner of Gaylesville, AL: a brother-in-law, Eddie Keller of Molena, GA; an uncle, Dewey (Martha) Hughes of Dalton, GA; two grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.
