Mr. William "Bill" Edward Holloway

William 'Bill' Edward Holloway, 75, of Charlotte, passed away March 23, 2016. He was born April 14, 1940 in Upson County, Thomaston, Georgia to James and Frances Holloway. He graduated from Yatesville High School in 1958. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer for The US NAVY. He served in the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Holloway of Charlotte, NC; two sons, Chris (Dana) Holloway of Ghana, Africa and Matt (Sheila) Holloway of Huntsville, AL; stepchildren, Jamie (Kelly) Peavy of Mooresville, NC and Jennifer (Michael) Remsnyder of Sterling Heights, MI; grandchildren: Hannah and Griffin Holloway, Sarah, Charlie, and Kennedy Remsnyder, Reef Peavy, Kristen (Kevin) Abner, Angel (Shane) Combs, and Josh Carr; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Faye Holloway; one brother, Dennis Holmes; and nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Holloway; mother, Frances Holloway Holmes; and brother, Joe Holloway. His funeral service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Holy Covenant United Church of Christ, 3501 West WT Harris Blvd., Charlotte, NC at 12PM (Visitation at 11AM). The graveside service will be on Monday, March 28, 2016 in Thomaston, GA at Upson Memorial Gardens at 2PM.
