Mr. William Logan 'Billy' Tate, age 32 of 131 Kennesaw Drive, Thomaston, Georgia, died Thursday night, May 8, 2014, at Hospice Atlanta. Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 Sunday afternoon, May 11, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church, Thomaston. Burial will be in South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 Saturday afternoon at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home and from 2:30 - 3:30 Sunday afternoon in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church. Mr. Tate was born in Griffin, Georgia but grew up in Thomaston. A 2000 graduate of Upson-Lee High School, Mr. Tate attended Valdosta State University. Mr. Tate resided in Valdosta from 2002-2013 where he was employed with Jepson Pool Service. In Lowndes County, Mr. Tate volunteered as a community football coach with the Boys and Girls Club Athletic Department. Later he served as a community football coach for the Hahira Middle School Football Program. Mr. Tate is survived by his father, Charles D. Tate; mother, Mary H. Tate; brother, Bobby Tate; aunt and uncle Rebecca and Wesley Yawn, all of Thomaston. Several cousins, great aunts and uncles also survive. A member of the First United Methodist Church in Thomaston, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Thomaston First United Methodist Church or the Boys and Girls Club Athletic Department of Valdosta or the Hahira Middle School Football Program.
