Mr. William Jack English, age 95, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. English will be held on Sunday, September 15, at 3:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with Patsor Robbie Shirah and Rev. Ken English officiating. Interment will follow in Valley Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. English was born on July 29, 1924, in Molena, GA, to the late Willie Frank and Annie Lizzie Harmon English. He served his country honorably during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was employed by Yellow Freight Lines where he worked in the warehouse. Mr. English was member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by nine grandchildren: Kim (Donna) McCard of Yatesville; Stephanie (James) Emerson of Thomaston; Norris (Amy) Johnson and Harold (Tina) Johnson of Manchester; and Keith (Marsha) McCard, Edward (Theresa) Johnson, Jr., Debra Burks, Pam Benson, Mary (Jeff) Kendrick; granddaughter-in-law, Brenda Mobley all of Thomaston; and one sister, Lucile Harmon of Griffin. Twenty-three great grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren also survive. In addition to his parents, Mr. English was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ella English; a son, Ralph English; and his brothers, Marvin English, Hulon English, Tommy English, and John H.
