Mr. William Laverne Warren

Mr. William "Laverne" Warren, 84, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Warren will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Weeks officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in South View Cemetery. The family of Mr. Warren will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Mr. Warren was born in Thomaston on July 26, 1936, a son of the late WIlliam Terrell and Evelyn McKinley Warren. He was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and served as a JROTC Company Commander. Mr. Warren served his country in the U. S. Army from 1954 through 1957. He served in Korea and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a retired auto mechanic for Gill's Garage in Griffin. Mr. Warren enjoyed hunting and fishing Mr. Warren was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church / New Hope Campus. Mr. Warren is survived by two daughters, Julie (James) Galt of Marietta and Lori (Carl) Bissantz of Newnan; a son, Jeff (Kaye) Warren of Forsyth; a sister, Teresa (John)Campbell; a sister-in-law, Jane Huckaby; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Claire H. Warren, and a sister, Elaine W. Brown.
