Mr. Wyna B. Watson, Jr., 85, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, March 4th, 2015 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Watson will be held on Friday, March 6th, 2015 at 2 pm at the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Herb Flanders will officiate and burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Mr. Watson was a life-long resident of Thomaston, born on October 15th, 1929 to the late Wyna B. Watson, Sr., and Mary Thompson Watson. He was a 1946 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute. Mr. Watson attended North Georgia College and then West Georgia College. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 1950. After earning his degree Mr. Watson proudly served his country in the U. S. Army and was stationed at Fort Jackson, SC, during the Korean War. Until his retirement Mr. Watson was a salesman for the Tristate Agricultural Chemicals Company. Mr. Watson was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He also served on the Administrative Board. He was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. Mr. Watson is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frances B. Watson; a daughter, Jane (Chuck) Knowles of Griffin; a son, Wyna B. 'Ben' Watson III of Thomaston; five grandchildren, Kris Knowles of Brookhaven, Patrick W. Knowles of Newnan, Lindsay (Justin) Wynn of Jackson, and Benjamin (Jessie) Watson and Chad Watson, both of Thomaston. He is also survived by a great grandson, Casen Wynn, and one niece and nephew. The family of Mr. Watson will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church on Friday from 1 pm until the funeral hour.
