Mrs. Ann Askew Jenkins

Mrs. Ann Askew Jenkins age 88, of Thomaston, died Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Jenkins will be held on Wednesday, September 16th, 2015 at 3:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Herb Flanders officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the First United Methodist Church Social Hall on Wednesday from 1 until 2:30 pm. Mrs. Jenkins was born September 30, 1926 in Lockhart, S.C. to the late Mr. Will and Maude Askew. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina. Mrs. Jenkins retired from the Thomaston City School System after forty years of Teaching, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hospital Auxiliary, Thomaston Upson Retired Educators Association, and her Bridge Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Alton Toombs Jenkins, Jr. Mrs. Jenkins is survived by her cousins, Joe (Betty) Askew and family, Linda Case, and JoAnn Daniels; friends, Sarah (Randy) Flanagan, of Thomaston, Mary (Danny) Brinks, of Greensboro, and Margaret (William) Moseley, of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Margaret (Paul) Sheets of Gray, Katherine (Brian) Timberlake of St. Mary's, Katie Flanagan of Indianapolis, IN, Ginna Moseley of Washington, DC, Walker Moseley of Birmingham, AL, Robert Moseley of Knoxville, TN, and Zack Flanagan of Atlanta; and 3 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 132 Cherokee Rd. Thomaston, GA 30286 Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
