Mrs. Annette "Annie" Watson Hunter

Mrs. Annette "Annie" Watson Hunter, 85, of Griffin, died Monday, October 11, 2021, at Heritage Inn Nursing Home in Barnesville, GA. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Hunter will be held on Thursday, October 14, at 2:00 PM, at South View Cemetery in Thomaston, GA. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 1:30 until 2:00 PM. Mrs. Hunter was born November 24, 1935, in Thomaston to the late J. W. Watson and Evelyn Gilmore Watson. She earned an AS degree from Kilgore College in Kilgore, TX. She was a journalist and freelance writer for the Longview Herald in Longview, TX, and was also a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Kaylene Hunter, and a sister, June Watson. Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Billy "BJ" Hunter of Griffin, GA; a son, Karl (Suzanne) Hunter of McKinney, TX; a sister, Jean Hill of Longview, TX; two sisters-in-law: Joanne (Larry) Cobb and Martha Pope; and two grandchildren: Lindsey (Jarred) Bell and Drew Hunter.
