Mrs. Barbara Ann Mathis, 84, of Georgetown, GA, died Friday, February 2, 2018, at the Medical Center Barbour in Eufaula, AL. Funeral services for Mrs. Mathis will be held Monday, February 5, 2018, at 3:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home of Thomaston, GA, with Rev. Bill Crawley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM. Mrs. Mathis was born in Thomaston on February 5, 1933, to the late Charlie Jarrell and Allie Cobb Jarrell. She was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute, worked for Georgia Power, and retired from Thomaston Mills Peerless Division where she was a cloth inspector. Mrs. Mathis was a member of the New Harvest Worship Center in Georgetown, GA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mathis was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Mathis. Survivors include two daughters: Lynn (Wilburn) Hardeman and Linda (Lincoln) Anderson, both of Georgetown, GA; two sons: Christopher Mathis of Dahlonega, GA, and Tony Mathis; a sister: Daisy J. Gentry of Thomaston; two brothers: Stanley 'Jack' (Betty) Jarrell of Thomaston, GA, and Frank D. (Hurlene) Jarrell of Zebulon, GA. Ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren also survive. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home of Thomaston, GA, is in charge of all arrangements.
