Mrs. Barbara Ann Stewart

Mrs. Barbara Ann Stewart, age 85, of Thomaston, died Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Harborview Health and Rehab. Due to the COVID pandemic, a private family graveside service will be held in South View Cemetery. Mrs. Stewart was born April 7, 1935, in Taylor County, to the late W. J. and Leah Beeland Edmondson. She was a 1953 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute. Mrs. Stewart was the manager of the Thomaston Sears store until 1992, and she later worked for fifteen years at Quad Graphics. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Edward Stewart. Mrs. Stewart is survived by three sons: Jeb (Duree) Stewart of Blairsville, GA; Mike (Kim) Stewart, of Thomaston; and Russ (Stephanie) Stewart of Fortson, GA; a sister, Betty (Thompson) Currie, of Hendersonville, NC; a special friend, Eugene Storey, of Meansville, GA; five grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 4 step grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association of Georgia, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201.
