Mrs. Barbara Jean Torbert Harrell

Mrs. Barbara Jean Torbert Harrell, 85, of Athens, GA, and formerly of Thomaston, died Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Kindred Hospice at Piedmont Athens Hospital. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Harrell will be held on Saturday, October 20, at 2:00 PM at South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mrs. Harrell, a native of Thomaston, was born August 13, 1933, to the late Oscar B. and Annie Maud Kelley Torbert. She was a 1951 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and was retired from B. F. Goodrich Martha Mills where she was an inspector. Mrs. Harrell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Thomaston. Survivors include two daughters: Brenda Harrell (Mike) Paulk of Athens, GA, and Beth Harrell Stinchcomb of Lawton, IA; a son, Bob Harrell of Hudson, FL; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
