Mrs. Barbara Johnston Wilson

Mrs. Barbara Johnston Wilson, age 86, of Milner, GA, died Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Wilson will be held Sunday, May 5, at 3:00 PM, at the Milner Baptist Church in Milner, GA, with Dr. Brad Ellington officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday afternoon from 1:30 PM until the funeral hour.

Mrs. Wilson was born in Evergreen, Alabama, on January 29, 1938, to the late Bill Johnston and the late Wilner Wilson Johnston. She was a 1956 graduate of Evergreen High School and received her nursing degree from Grady Hospital School of Nursing. She had been employed by Griffin Hospital and was later a homemaker. Mrs. Wilson enjoyed feeding and watching birds, traveling with her husband, working in her yard, and taking care of everyone. She was a member of Milner Baptist Church where she worked with senior adults.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Wilson. She is survived by a daughter, Brenda (Larry) Mitcham of Milner; two sons: Barry (Selina) Wilson of Woolsey, GA, and Brad (Tonya) Wilson of Monroe, GA; three brothers: Billy (Emily) Johnston of Freeport, AL, John (Cheryl) Johnston of Evergreen, AL, and Stanley (Rosalyn) Johnston of West Palm Beach, FL; nine grandchildren: Lindsey (Zach) Nelson, Lauren Mitcham, Leah (Ajay Ganapathy) Wilson, Clark Wilson, Melanie Wilson, Heather Wilson, Hailey Wilson, Nathaniel Wilson, and Josiah Wilson; and two great grandchildren: Charlotte Nelson and Gabriel Nelson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
