Mrs. Betty Frances Short

Mrs. Betty Frances Short, 81, of Thomaston, died Monday, November 8, 2021, at Navicent Health in Macon, GA. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Short will be held Wednesday, November 10, at 3:00 PM in Upson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mickey Corley officiating. Mrs. Short was born February 16, 1940, in Hollonville, Pike County, GA. She was retired from B. F. Goodrich Martha Mills where she worked as a spooler. She was a piano teacher and also kept children in her home. Mrs. Short was a member of Holy Ground Worship Center until it closed, and later she became a media member of Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, LA. Mrs. Short was preceded in death by her husband, Larry E. Short; her mother, Etta Maude Garner; a daughter, Lisa McKissick; and a brother, Willie Ray Garner. She is survived by three children: Judy (Mike) Cooper of Smyrna, GA; Richard Stephen (Jackie) Pitts of Thomaston; and Christy Short of VA; a sister, Jeanette (Hugh) Fleming of Thomaston; two brothers: Jerry Garner and Lamar Garner, both of Thomaston; seven grandchildren: Kenny Heaton, Catherine Grimm, Richard Stephen Pitts, Jr., Stephanie Chambers, Stephen McKissick, Michael McKissick, and Amanda Edmondson; and eight great grandchildren.
