Mrs. Beverly Irvin DuPree, 58, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, May 5th, 2015 at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. DuPree will be held on Thursday, May 7th, 2015 at 11:00 a. m., at the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Herb Flanders will officiate and burial will follow in South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Church Fellowship Hall on Thursday from 10:00 a. m., until the funeral hour. Mrs. DuPree was born in Athens, GA on July 13, 1956. She grew up in Thomaston and was an active member of the First Baptist Church. Later in life she transferred her membership to the First United Methodist Church with her daughter, Elise. Mrs. DuPree graduated from R. E. Lee Institute in 1973 at the age of 16 and attended Valdosta State University and the University of Georgia. She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother to Amanda and Elise. During those years she established and operated a gymnastics school for children. She was most recently employed at Albany State College as an information technology analyst. Mrs. Dupree is survived by her husband, Clabe DuPree; her mother, Nita B. Irvin of Thomaston; her children, Amanda Dimling of Elberton and Elise (K. J.) Delli-gatti of Thomaston; her step-children, Katey Dobson of Griffin, and Brian DuPree and Jason DuPree, both of Sylvester; her sister, Barbara (Bill) Andrews and her brother, Mark (Lauri) Irvin, both of Thomaston; grandchildren, Kaylee, Eric and Tripp; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin K. Irvin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 707, Thomaston, GA 30286, or the First Baptist Church, 208 South Church St., Thomaston, GA 30286.
