Mrs. Burma Elizabeth Thompson, age 97, of Thomaston, died Saturday evening, June 25, at the residence of Kim Graham, her great niece. Mrs. Thompson chose to be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers and food the family has requested that donations be made to Thomaston Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association. Mrs. Thompson was born in Montana. She was an avid reader, singer, and loved to participate in all church functions. Mrs. Thompson loved the outdoors and her flowers. Before retiring she was employed by Sears and Roebuck Co., and Fincher Jewelry of Thomaston. She was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Wright, father and step-mother, Monroe (Mary) Spink, brother, William Bradbury, Sisters, Mary Stillman, Lillian Thompson. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband, William R. Thompson, sister, Peggy (Losh) Kusumoto, brother-in-law, Hubert (Diane) Thompson, sister-in-law, Ruth Ellerbee. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
