Mrs. Carolyn J. Lovett

Mrs. Carolyn J. Lovett, 89, of Thomaston, died Saturday, August 7, 2021, at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Lovett will be held Monday morning, August 9, at 11:00 AM, at the First Baptist Church of Thomaston with Rev. Bill Barber officiating. Private interment service will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Lovett was born September 9, 1931, in Concord, GA, to the late Buford Arnold Adkerson and Daisy Inez McClendon Adkerson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Thomaston where she was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Mrs. Lovett worked with youth in the First Baptist Church of Winter Garden, FL, and in the First Baptist Church of Thomaston for more than 40 years. She was involved in missions, and she started a church plant in central Florida. Mrs. Lovett was a former resident of Oakland, FL, and was the owner/operator of Carol Properties which had grocery stores and rental properties. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lovett was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lovett, her sister, Anne Story, and her brother, Jimmy Adkerson. She is survived by three daughters: Debbie (Jerry) Dickson of Perry, OK; Starlyne (Mark) Clark of Ocoee, FL; and Glenda (Keith) Grant of Macon, GA; four grandchildren: Jacob (Chelsea) Clark, Caleb Clark, Evan Grant, and Kate Grant; two great grandchildren: Lawton and Weston; niece, Anna Lee Story, and nephews: Houston and Drew Story.
