Mrs. Charlene Dooley

Mrs. Charlene Dooley, age 66, of Meansville, died Friday, September 30, 2022, at her residence.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dooley will be held on Monday, October 3, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Monday.

Mrs. Dooley was born on March 8, 1956, in Atlanta, a daughter of the late Charles Edward Swearingen and the late Sara Adkins Swearingen. She was a 1975 graduate of Forest Park High School. She was employed with Clayton County Board of Education where she retired as Transportation Manager.

Mrs. Dooley was known to most people as “Nana,” a name she cherished. She loved flowers and the outdoors, especially hummingbirds. She never complained and often said, “Life is good,” no matter the circumstance, and she will be forever missed by all who knew her. The most important things in her life were her family and animals, whom she loved to spoil.

Mrs. Dooley leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 48 years, Steve Dooley of Meansville; her son, Scott (Paula) Dooley of Concord; her sister, Cindy Swearingen of Hampton; her three grandchildren, Brandon, Blake and Taylor Dooley, and her fur baby, Charlie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
