Mrs. Dolores "Dee" Digioia

Mrs. Dolores "Dee" DiGioia, 84, of Thomaston, and formerly of Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the residence of her daughter. Memorial services for Mrs. DiGioia will be held at a later date. Mrs. DiGioia was born in Johnstown, PA, on February 23, 1937, to the late Arthur Daughenbaugh and Josephine Elizabeth Cooke Daughenbaugh. She was a graduate of Johnstown High School and was a homemaker. Dolores also known as "Dee Dee" to her friends and family, was a little woman who had a huge heart and cared about everyone, especially her family and her best friends. She believed in creating community wherever she lived. She was the visionary, planner, and made sure everyone enjoyed their time together. Dee Dee was a cub scout leader for many years. She devoted her time to much volunteer work with her various church affiliations. In additon to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis DiGioia. Survivors include two daughters: Michele (Rev. Bill) Barber and Lou Ann (Chris) Clews; two sons: Larry Ressler and Joe (Karen) Ressler;a sister, Joan Allen;10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews whom she adored also survive. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
