Mrs. Donna Marie Mclendon Cox

Mrs. Donna Marie McLendon Cox, age 62, of Thomaston, died Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin.

Mrs. Cox was born in Upson County, on May 28, 1961, a daughter of Martha Ann Fleming McLendon and the late Rev. Harley “Slick” McLendon, Jr. She worked as a waitress for Shoney’s, Golden Corral, and several seafood restaurants in Florida. She was of the Baptist faith, and she loved to cook. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Homer Cox.

Mrs. Cox is survived by her sons, Brandon Cox and Christopher Nelson, her mother, Martha Ann Fleming McLendon, her sister, Shelia (Joe Partain) Matheny, and her brother, Michael (Vickey) McLendon, all of Thomaston. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A private family graveside will be held at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
