Mrs. Doris Sprinkle Thompson Turner, age 81, of Thomaston, died Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Providence Health Care. A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Turner will be held on Tuesday, June 27, at 2:00 PM, at the Friendship Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. John Blackmon officiating. The family will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Mrs. Turner was born in Upson County on February 21, 1936, to the late Ory Linn and Florrie Holliman Sprinkle. She had been employed by the William Carter Company and was a bus driver for special needs children with the Upson County School System. She attended the Friendship Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husbands, Bubba Thompson and Bo Turner, and a brother, Richard Linn Sprinkle, and her stepfather, Richard Smith. She is survived by a son, David (Mindi) Thompson of Thomaston; a granddaughter, Devin Thompson of Thomaston; a sister, Nancy (Randall) Peters of Ringgold, GA; two brothers: John E. Sprinkle and Frank Sprinkle, both of Jacksonville, FL: and several nieces and nephews including Lynn S. (Paul) Vickers of Meansville, GA.
