Mrs. Dorothy C. Parkerson

Mrs. Dorothy C. Parkerson, age 81, of Thomaston, died Monday, January 24, 2022, at her residence. Memorial services for Mrs. Parkerson will be held Saturday, February 5, at 4:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Parkerson was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on December 1, 1940, a daughter of the late Daniel Cecil Moon and the late Elizabeth Raines Moon. She was retired from the Meat Department with Publix. She enjoyed collecting different types of dolls and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She attended Griffin Center Point Church. Mrs. Parkerson is survived by her sons, Chris (Lisa) Parkerson of Thomaston; Timothy (Staci) Parkerson of Grantville; her brothers, William “Bill” (Terri) Moon of Lake City, Florida; Patrick (Wendy) Moon of Port St. Lucie, Florida; her eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parkerson was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Parkerson, and siblings, Juanita Fletcher, Danny Moon, and Virginia Sumerall.
