Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Louise Anthony Hayes

Mrs. Dorothy 'Dot' Louise Anthony Hayes, 90, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Hayes will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 11:00 AM, at the Silvertown Baptist Church. Rev. Paul Caspers and Rev. Dusty Raines will officiate, and interment will follow in South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 until the funeral hour. Mrs. Hayes, a native of Thomaston, was born September 27, 1927, to the late Otis Short Anthony and Edna Louise Dickens Anthony. She was a homemaker, and a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mrs. Hayes was dedicated to her WMU circle, and she was instrumental in starting the Silvertown Community Homeowners Association. She had been a member of the Silvertown Baptist Church since 1939. Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her husband, Theron Aldine Hayes. Survivors include three children: Theresa (Tom) Halley of Griffin, GA; Sue (Durwood) Fallin of Greenville, SC; and Mark (Nancy) Hayes of Americus, GA; one sister: Hazel Trice, of Thomaston, GA; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
