Mrs. Dorothy Holloway Daniel, 90, of Thomaston, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 15th, 2018 after an extended illness. Funeral services for Mrs. Daniel will be held Wednesday, July 18th, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Dr. David Haygood and Lic. Horace Pippin will officiate and burial will follow in South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. Mrs. Daniel was born in Thomaston on October 15th, 1927, a daughter of the late Tom Pete and Lillie Ann Ellington Holloway. She was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute. Mrs. Daniel was a homemaker who loved cooking and was also employed for 50 years as a clerk by Georgia Farm Product Sales. Mrs. Daniel attended the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church all of her life and served as the church treasurer for 10 years. Mrs. Daniel is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Steve and Mrs. Debra Daniel of Thomaston; her sister-in-law, Betty Holloway of Thomaston; two grandsons, Christopher George Daniel of Smyrna and Blake Steven Lindsey of Cumming; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Beutell Daniel in 2011.
