Mrs. Dorothy Mae Jean Isenberg Wieder

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Jean Isenberg Wieder, 93, of Thomaston, died Monday, July 15th, 2019 at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Wieder will be held on Saturday, July 20th, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Thomaston with Dr. Glenn Gilstrap officiating. The family of Mrs. Wieder will receive friends at the First Presbyterian Church on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. A memorial service for Mrs. Wieder will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church in Kissimmee, FL, at a date and time to be announced later. Mrs. Wieder was born in Pleasantville, Iowa on September 4, 1925, a daughter of the late Daniel Proffitt and Iva Mae Nell Gay Lester Ford Isenberg. She was a member of the Pleasantville High School graduating class of 1943. Mrs. Wieder and her husband, the late John M. Wieder, lived in Kissimmee for many years. She was a long-time volunteer at Kissimmee Memorial Hospital and was recognized for 1,000's of hours of service as a Pink Lady. Mrs. Wieder was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Kissimmee where she sang in the choir for 45 years. Her joy was singing, spending time with her family, sewing, traveling and reading books. Mrs. Wieder is survived by two children, Elizabeth Wieder McMullen of Parkersburg, WV, and Stephen K. Wieder of Kissimmee; five grandchildren, Deborah E. Woollard of Parkersburg, WV, Donald F. (Pia) Woollard, Jr., of Fort Myers, FL, Emily Wieder (Nelson) Velez of St. Cloud, FL, Susan Wieder (Trey) Jordan of Thomaston, and Wendi Wieder (Tim) Praytor of Spartanburg, SC; 14 great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents Mrs. Wieder was preceded in death by a son, John R. Wieder, four sisters and five brothers. Mrs. Wieder's family would like to recognize and thank the many wonderful caregivers for the tender loving care they provided to "Ms. Dot." In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's Episcopal Church, 1709 N. John Young Parkway, Kissimmee, FL 34741; Thomaston Hospice Foundation, 512 South Center St., Thomaston, GA 30286; or the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC.
