Mrs. Elane Best Daniel, 75, of Thomaston, died Thursday, February 27, at her residence. Memorial services for Mrs. Daniel will be held on Friday, March 6, at 4:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home, with Rev. John North officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until the funeral hour at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mrs. Daniel was born in Pike County on May 23, 1944, to the late Luther Best and Lois Short Best. She was a 1962 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute, and she later earned a B.S. Degree in Nursing. Mrs. Daniel was retired from Upson Regional Medical Center and was a member of The Rock United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Freddy Daniel of Thomaston; children: Dawn White of Thomaston; Jay (Julia) Taylor of Rogersville, TN; Charlie (Wendy) Daniel of Thomaston; and David (Beth) Daniel of Sarasota, FL; a brother, Ralph (Linda) Best of Thomaston; eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
